Press ReleaseRelease Date: December 20, 2007 HealthReach Community Health Centers Honors Employees and Volunteers Augusta— HealthReach Community Health Centers recently held its third annual employee and volunteer recognition event. The event was held at the Augusta Civic Center and drew over 200 people. The theme of the event was “A Night at the Oscars” and music was provided by the Gerry Wright Trio. Speakers at the event included Jack McKee, President of the Mt. Abram Regional Health Center Community Board and Dr. Cynthia Robertson of the Bingham Area Health Center. Eight awards and one scholarship were presented during the event, including five Individual of the Year awards. Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Chet Hibbard, who is currently serving as the chair of the Bingham Area Health Council. The Clinical Support Person of the Year award was granted to Paula Dube, a nurse at Lovejoy Health Center who has played a strong role in helping that Health Center transition to electronic medical records. Wendy Turner and Jane Chase, both from HealthReach’s central office in Waterville, were named Administrative Support Person of the Year and Manager of the Year, respectively. Provider of the Year was awarded to Linda Tully, a Family Nurse Practitioner from Madison Area Health Center. Retirees were honored in a speech by HealthReach President and CEO Connie Coggins. “The years that you all worked for this organization are remembered by us with fondness,” Coggins said. “We appreciate your connection to us.” Kayt DeMerchant, Director of Communications and one of the event’s emcees, led the audience in offering congratulations to the following employees for their years of service: Celebrating 5 years: Celebrating 10 years: Celebrating 15 years: Celebrating 20 years: Celebrating 25 years: Celebrating 30 years: “Our long term employees serve as an incredible resource to us,” DeMerchant said. “They demonstrate loyalty and dedication, serve as mentors, and help us celebrate our history.” HealthReach Community Health Centers is a system of eleven federally qualified, community-based health centers located in central and western Maine.
